Mt Garnet
In 2001 Coolgarra Contracting began a partnership with Kagara Ltd Mt Garnet, providing equipment support initially for exploration and then with earthworks and concreting for the mill construction. Our fully equipped workshop was established to support our activities and can competently maintain machinery from light vehicles through to heavy equipment. Coolgarra Contracting also managed the crusher feed on the ROM for the mill.
Surveyor, Balcooma minesites
In 2003 Coolgarra Contracting carried out earthworks ranging from camp construction through to commissioning and remained on site conducting general maintenance and water monitoring until 2011 utilising backhoes, water trucks and a refueling/servicing vehicle. The Surveyor acid collection dam construction was completed in 2010.
Thalanga Mine – Charters Towers
At Thalanga Mine in 2008-2009 Coolgarra capped and constructed the next lift of the tailings dam. At this time dump trucks and a new Hitachi 47 tonne excavator were introduced to our fleet.
Ootan Road upgrade
In 2009-2011 Coolgarra supplied labour and machinery for the upgrade and maintenance of 100 km of gravel road to link Kagara’s Chillagoe operations with the Mt Garnet mill.
